Educational and testing purpose
The tools generate digital audio signals for demonstrations, references, preliminary troubleshooting, and subjective listening checks. They are not laboratory instruments, certification systems, or substitutes for a defined professional test method.
No medical diagnosis or treatment
The site does not diagnose, monitor, treat, cure, or prevent hearing loss, tinnitus, disease, or any medical or psychological condition. Audibility or non-audibility of a generated tone is not a hearing diagnosis. Seek a qualified health professional for hearing or medical concerns.
No calibrated sound-pressure guarantee
The browser’s Output Level percentage is digital gain, not dB SPL. The site does not know or measure the acoustic level at your ears or in your room. Operating-system volume, DAC, amplifier, speaker or headphone sensitivity, placement, distance, processing, and the environment determine actual sound pressure.
Frequency and device limits
A selected oscillator frequency describes the requested browser signal. The code guards against values at or above the active Nyquist frequency, but it does not guarantee that a browser, converter, amplifier, speaker, headphone, or subwoofer reproduces every allowed value. Small speakers commonly provide limited deep bass, and high-frequency output varies among devices and listeners.
Listening and equipment safety
Loud or prolonged sound can damage hearing. Fixed tones and sweeps can be uncomfortable or fatiguing, and edge-of-range tones should never be made abruptly louder simply because they are difficult to hear. Keep exposure brief, avoid unattended looping, and stop at discomfort, ringing, driver strain, mechanical noise, or distortion. You are responsible for suitable device volume, amplification, connections, equipment limits, environment, and consideration of other people.
Interpretation of results
Subjective changes can come from the digital path, playback hardware, wireless codecs, processing, speaker placement, room reflections, nearby objects, or hearing. A listening sweep does not produce a frequency-response graph. Quantitative acoustic analysis requires an appropriate calibrated microphone, known stimulus, suitable software, controlled placement, and careful interpretation.
Generated WAV files
WAV files are encoded locally from selected settings. They are not guaranteed calibration references, and another player or system may alter their effective gain or playback result. Confirm that any equipment receiving a generated file can accept it safely.
